# Kling 4.0 for product videos: what the announcement means before October

> For product marketers weighing Kling 4.0 for a launch video: what Kling announced, what 4.0 Flash does today, and where generated clips fit. From Kling's announcement, not our tests.

## Kling 4.0's 30-second clip, and the catch

Kling 4.0 makes clips up to 30 seconds in one pass, double Kling 3.0's 15-second ceiling. If you're weighing Kling 4.0 for product videos, that is long enough for a whole launch film's b-roll.

The catch is what you can open today. A secondary summary of Kling's spec table says 4.0 Flash tops out at 20 seconds and 720p. Kling's announcement says Flash is live now for Ultra Yearly subscribers, and full 4.0 is due in October. So which of those numbers can a launch film count on this month?

This post draws on Kling's announcement and pages. We have not tested Kling 4.0.

[Video: Cinematic for Compute Exchange](https://uscale.ai/examples/compute-exchange-cinematic.mp4) — The split this post argues for: cinematic footage sets the mood, then the real app carries the demo. Made in uscale, not with Kling 4.0.
Here's the short answer first. The reasons follow.

## What it means for product videos

> **Kling 4.0 is built for the parts of a product video that aren't the product: b-roll, mood, the product still and launch-film polish. Full 4.0 isn't out yet and hasn't been shown handling a real interface, so plan your next launch film around it and ship this month's with your real product on screen.**

That's the verdict. The reasons start with what Kling actually announced.

## What Kling 4.0 adds for product videos

Most of what Kling announced helps the shots around your product, not the product screen itself. To use the list, ask one question of each feature: which shot in my launch film would this serve?

| Announced feature | What it could do in a product video | Source |
|---|---|---|
| Single takes up to 30 seconds | Cover a whole b-roll sequence in one pass | [Kling page](https://kling.ai/feature/kling-4-ai-video-generation) |
| Up to 10 keyframes | Set where the camera starts, turns and lands on a product still | [Kling page](https://kling.ai/feature/kling-4-ai-video-generation) |
| Omni Reference: up to 15 references (images, videos, subjects, voice tone) | Keep the product still and the interface look the same across shots | [Kling post](https://x.com/Kling_ai/status/2104596718067257458) |
| Stereo audio, up to 4K, 10-bit HDR | Give hero shots a polished launch-film finish | [Kling post](https://x.com/Kling_ai/status/2104596718067257458) |
| 16:9, 9:16, 1:1, 21:9 | Cut versions for the site, social feeds and wide headers | [Kling page](https://kling.ai/feature/kling-4-ai-video-generation) |
| Editing up to 5 clips, combined up to 30 seconds | Adjust a short b-roll run in one task | [Kling page](https://kling.ai/feature/kling-4-ai-video-generation) |
| Prompts up to 8,000 tokens | Fit a long shot-by-shot prompt | [Kling blog](https://kling.ai/blog/kling-4-vs-3) |
| On-screen text in 9 languages | Labels or captions inside a generated shot | [Kling page](https://kling.ai/feature/kling-4-ai-video-generation) |

The last row is Kling's claim, not a tested result. Kling says the text stays readable while the shot moves. It has not shown this on a real interface with small UI text. Whether you can use any of this depends on which version you can open today.

## What you can use today: Flash now, full 4.0 in October

Today's 4.0 Flash is a lighter, lower-resolution model, so treat it as a test bench for b-roll rather than the model the announcement describes. Kling's announcement says Flash is live for Ultra Yearly subscribers. Kling's blog says Flash opened to a limited group of users for early access on September 28. Pandaily reports Flash is aimed at high-volume work, with faster generation and lower cost.

| Capability | 4.0 Flash now | Full 4.0 (October) | Source |
|---|---|---|---|
| Access | Ultra Yearly (announcement); limited early access from September 28 (blog) | October 2026, no exact day announced | [Kling on X](https://x.com/Kling_ai/status/2104596718067257458), [Kling blog](https://kling.ai/blog/kling-4-vs-3), [Tech Times](https://www.techtimes.com/articles/328285/20260930/kling-40-promises-30-second-4k-video-broadcast-spec-coming-october-not-today.htm) |
| Clip length | Up to 20 seconds | Longer single takes | [Atlas Cloud (secondary)](https://www.atlascloud.ai/blog/tips/kling-4-flash-vs-full) |
| Resolution and color | 720p, 8-bit SDR | 4K/10-bit HDR, still listed as "coming soon" | Atlas Cloud, Tech Times |
| Keyframes | No multi-keyframe input listed | Supported | Atlas Cloud, [Kling page](https://kling.ai/feature/kling-4-ai-video-generation) |
| API pricing | Not published | Not published | Tech Times |

The Flash limits come from Atlas Cloud's summary of Kling's spec table, which is a secondary source. Kling's own membership page couldn't be read directly. [Magic Hour reports](https://magichour.ai/blog/kling-ai-pricing) that on September 13, 2026, it showed Ultra at $1,429.99 a year, paid upfront.

Judge a model by the version you can open, not the one in the trailer. Even Flash can't answer the question that matters most for a product video.

There's a fair objection to that, though, and it's worth taking seriously.

## Won't longer takes be enough to make the whole launch film?

The case for building on Kling 4.0 is strong. Longer single takes, plus an extension feature that Kling says will stretch a video to 2 minutes (marked 'coming soon'), point toward one model covering most of a launch film. Grant all of it. Length was never the limit that matters most for a product video. The limit is whether the screen on camera is really your product.

The announcement doesn't show how legible a real interface and its small UI text are. It doesn't show how steady the camera stays over a long take, which of these features Flash has and which wait for full 4.0, or any results with real product screens. Kling says on-screen text stays readable while the shot moves. That is Kling's own claim and was not tested here.

[Video: Launch film for AlpacaRelay](https://uscale.ai/examples/alpacarelay-launch-film.mp4) — A launch film where every product screen is the real interface, illustrated. That's the part a generated take can't stand in for yet.
So the rule is simple. Use generated clips for mood, settings and a product still. Film the real product for anything a buyer has to trust, such as a [product demo](https://uscale.ai/use-cases/product-demo-video) or an [onboarding step](https://uscale.ai/use-cases/onboarding-video).

What does that rule look like on a real launch this month?

## Planning a launch video around Kling 4.0

Say you're launching a SaaS reporting tool this month. This is a hypothetical. Plan the film in three beats.

**Write the opening for mood.** Use a short generated or stock shot of your buyers' world. A long Kling 4.0 take could fill this slot once full 4.0 arrives in October. It's done when it sets the scene without showing any interface.

**Film the real product for the demo.** Record the interface doing the one job buyers ask about. The screen recorder you already have works. It's done when you have one clean take.

**Close on an end card.** Show the product name, one line of promise and one call to action.

Kling lists 9:16 and 21:9 among 4.0's formats. Watch those two for a social cut and a wide site header.

Within the hour, write the three beats in a doc. If you do only one thing, record the demo.

If you'd rather not edit, uscale turns your website, web app or GitHub repo into a narrated [product launch video](https://uscale.ai/use-cases/product-launch-video) in about ten minutes. It films the real product or illustrates it, and adds voice, captions and music. Cinematic cuts with AI film clips cost more, and every price is shown before you press anything ([see uscale pricing](https://uscale.ai/pricing)). Teams building [software products](https://uscale.ai/industries/software-products) can start from their product's URL.

**Try it:** [make a product launch video](https://uscale.ai/use-cases/product-launch-video) from your product's URL, with the real interface on screen.

## Before your next launch

Three things you can do today:

1. If you're on Ultra Yearly, try 4.0 Flash on a b-roll or product-still shot, not on your interface.
2. Hold off on counting on 30-second takes, keyframes or 4K until full 4.0 arrives in October.
3. Ship this month's launch film with the real product on screen. The [product launch video guide](https://uscale.ai/use-cases/product-launch-video) covers the plan, and it won't go out of date with the model news.

We'll update this post when full 4.0 ships. Until then, [see launch, story and cinematic films in our examples](https://uscale.ai/examples). Your first video is free.

Generated clips can set the mood. Only your product can make the promise.

## Questions

### What is Kling 4.0?

Kling 4.0 is the next video generation model from Kling AI, announced in September 2026 with full release planned for October 2026. Kling says it makes single clips up to 30 seconds, accepts up to 10 keyframes and up to 15 references, and outputs stereo audio and 10-bit HDR up to 4K. These are Kling's announced specs; nobody has yet shown how it handles real product interfaces.

### Can I use Kling 4.0 now?

Kling 4.0 is only partly available now. Kling's announcement says Kling 4.0 Flash is live for Ultra Yearly subscribers, and its blog says Flash opened to a limited early-access group on September 28, 2026. The full Kling 4.0 model is due in October 2026, with no exact day announced. A secondary report put the Ultra plan at $1,429.99 a year, paid upfront, as of September 13, 2026.

### What's the difference between Kling 4.0 and Kling 4.0 Flash?

Kling 4.0 Flash is the lighter, faster version available now, while full Kling 4.0 arrives in October 2026. A secondary summary of Kling's spec table says Flash tops out at 20 seconds, 720p and 8-bit SDR, with no multi-keyframe input listed. Full Kling 4.0 is announced with 30-second single takes, up to 10 keyframes and 10-bit HDR up to 4K. Pandaily reports Flash targets high-volume work at lower cost.

### Can Kling 4.0 make a 30-second video in one generation?

Kling says yes for the full Kling 4.0 model: its official page lists videos up to 30 seconds from a single generation, double Kling 3.0's 15-second ceiling according to Pandaily. That full model is due in October 2026. Today's Kling 4.0 Flash tops out at 20 seconds, per a secondary summary of Kling's spec table. Kling has not shown how steady or legible a long take of a real product interface stays.

### How much does a product launch video cost with uscale?

A product launch video with uscale starts free: every new account gets 10 credits, or 20 with a work email, enough for one full first video with no card needed. After that, credit packs are $49 for 50 credits, $129 for 150 or $399 for 500, with no subscription. A walkthrough video is about 10 credits. Cinematic cuts with AI film clips cost more, and every price is shown before you press anything.
