The model behind TikTok's new ad clips
Seedance 2.0, ByteDance's Dreamina model, is now inside TikTok's Symphony Creative Studio, the AI ad-creation toolkit in TikTok Ads Manager. The clip above came from the same model: a GPU marketplace app's dashboard that stays readable while the camera moves.
We have run the model, so you can judge its output yourself instead of relying on a launch note.
Two questions matter: does Seedance 2.0 fix what TikTok says it fixes, and once the announcement is set aside, what does the model cost and where are its limits? Both depend on what we could check.
How we tested
TikTok says Seedance 2.0 is available globally to all paid TikTok advertisers. We did not run an ad through Symphony itself, so nothing below describes TikTok's interface or the drafts it returns.
We checked the model instead, using three kinds of source:
- TikTok's stated features, as reported at launch.
- The published specs from ByteDance's Seed lab and spec pages, and the prices on OpenRouter's and Venice.ai's own pages. These are dated between 14 April and 29 August 2026.
- One clip made in uscale with Seedance 2.0 on our own demo product, a GPU marketplace app, which uscale filmed by opening the live site and clicking through its screens. No customer project was used.
The limits are narrow. We made one clip of one product. Vendor pages and prices can change at any time, and TikTok has already started rolling out a newer version to some advertisers. uscale is our product, so we are not neutral.
What Seedance 2.0 fixes in a TikTok Symphony ad
TikTok's pitch is narrow. Seedance 2.0 is meant to fix two problems that make AI ads look AI-made: products that drift out of recognition from one segment to the next, and motion that looks stitched together. TikTok says the model keeps products recognizable across video segments with fewer manual corrections. It also says smoother, more natural motion means less time fixing outputs. Read that carefully. It is a promise about editing time, not about ad performance.
The model runs inside Symphony Creative Studio, the AI ad toolkit in TikTok Ads Manager. It is open to all paid TikTok advertisers worldwide. An advertiser enters text, images, a reference clip or a mix of these. Symphony returns a polished video with audio that TikTok calls perfectly in sync.
Two additions shipped with the model: a new Reference-to-Video tool, and upgraded image-to-video and text-to-video generation. Every output carries an automatic AI-generated label and an invisible watermark. Brief creative that still reads well with the label on screen. The next question is whether the model's published specs back up these promises.
Seedance 2.0 TikTok limits: 15 seconds, 2K and nine reference images
Inside TikTok Ads Manager, Seedance 2.0 generates video with synchronized audio at up to 2K resolution and up to 15 seconds long. Plan around that 15-second cap. A longer ad is several generations cut together, and every cut is a fresh test of product consistency.
A single request can combine as many as nine reference images, three reference video clips and three reference audio clips. ByteDance's Seed lab says the model outputs parallel tracks for background music, ambient sound and character voiceover, all aligned with the visual rhythm. ByteDance's technical report documents 480p and 720p native resolution, so the 2K figure describes what Ads Manager outputs, not the native resolution the report lists.
Symphony states no per-video price. Outside TikTok, Seedance 2.0 runs from $0.04035 per second on OpenRouter, or from $0.76 per clip on Venice.ai, with output up to 4K and private, non-logged generation.
The specs tell you what a clip can hold. They don't show whether the product still reads clearly a few seconds into a render. Only a clip can show that.
The product screen stays readable across the cut, but the version is already moving
We rendered a cinematic clip with Seedance 2.0 on a live GPU marketplace app, one of uscale's example films. uscale made it by opening the live app and filming its screens as it clicked through them. The frame below comes from later in the same render, after the camera has moved. The marketplace screen is still legible, and the interface reads as the same product, not a lookalike. That is the consistency TikTok is selling in Symphony. A sharp first frame proves little. The test is whether the product still reads after the camera moves.

The catch is timing. By August 3, 2026, TikTok's own for-business blog listed "Dreamina Seedance 2.5" under the Dreamina Seedance category. TikTok also confirmed that update is rolling out to select paid advertisers in select markets, not to everyone at once. Check which version your account runs before you brief a clip against it. The model can change under you, but the brief is the part you control.
How to brief a Seedance 2.0 clip in Symphony this week
Write the brief to the ceiling. Inside TikTok Ads Manager, the model makes clips of up to 15 seconds at up to 2K, with synced audio. You're done when the script, in a plain doc, fits one 15-second beat.
Sort your references. One request takes up to nine images, three video clips and three audio clips. A developer tool's folder should hold the terminal, the README and one key screen. A consumer app's folder should hold its app store preview shots and the first screen a new user sees. Your quick win for the next hour is building that folder within those limits.
Price it before you scale it. Symphony names no per-video price. If you estimate outside TikTok's tool, use the per-second and per-clip rates above. You're done when one test clip has a cost line.
Clear the label. Every output carries an automatic AI-generated label and an invisible watermark. You're done when brand, legal or your client accepts that before launch.
See your own product first. If you do only one thing, put your real product on screen before you trust Symphony's first draft. A screen recording you already have works. You can also see the model on your product without waiting on Symphony. What changed in Seedance 2.5 covers the newer model TikTok is rolling out.
Success means one clip briefed to spec, a reference folder you can reuse, and a label everyone has approved.
Try it: make a B2B marketing video of your live site or app, narrated for your buyers.
Before you brief the next clip
TikTok's pitch for Seedance 2.0 rests on two promises: products that stay recognizable across cuts, and smoother motion. Both are easy to check before a campaign depends on them.
- Open your own TikTok Ads Manager and confirm Seedance 2.0 is live in Symphony Creative Studio. Then check whether 2.5 has reached your market.
- Hold the ad you're planning against the specs above: length, resolution, reference assets, and the AI label on every output.
- uscale makes a narrated video of your site or app for B2B buyers, and your first video is free. The credit packs show what each video after that costs.
A model's promise is worth what your product looks like three seconds into the render.

Questions
What is Seedance 2.0 on TikTok?
Seedance 2.0 on TikTok is ByteDance's Dreamina Seedance 2.0 video model, built into TikTok Symphony Creative Studio, the AI ad-creation toolkit inside TikTok Ads Manager. Advertisers enter text, images or reference clips, and the model returns video with synchronized audio. TikTok says it keeps products recognizable across segments and makes motion smoother, so outputs need fewer manual fixes. Every video carries an automatic AI-generated label and an invisible watermark.
Is Seedance 2.0 available to all TikTok advertisers?
At launch in April 2026, TikTok said Dreamina Seedance 2.0 was available globally to all paid TikTok advertisers through Symphony Creative Studio in TikTok Ads Manager, so access is tied to a paid advertising account. The newer Dreamina Seedance 2.5 update works differently: TikTok confirmed it is rolling out to select paid advertisers in select markets rather than to everyone at once, so check what your own Ads Manager shows.
How long can a Seedance 2.0 video be in TikTok Ads Manager?
In TikTok Ads Manager, a Seedance 2.0 video can be up to 15 seconds long, with synchronized audio at up to 2K resolution. ByteDance's technical report documents generations of 4 to 15 seconds. A longer ad means cutting several generations together, and each cut is a new test of whether the product stays recognizable, so it pays to plan each script around one 15-second beat.
How much does Seedance 2.0 cost outside TikTok?
Outside TikTok, Seedance 2.0 is priced from $0.04035 per second on the OpenRouter API marketplace and from $0.76 per clip on Venice.ai, which also offers resolutions up to 4K and private, non-logged generation. Inside Symphony, TikTok does not state a per-video price. Vendor prices can change at any time, so check the provider's own page before budgeting a test run.
Has TikTok already moved on from Seedance 2.0?
Partly. By August 3, 2026, TikTok's for-business blog listed Dreamina Seedance 2.5 as a further Symphony model upgrade. TikTok confirmed the update is rolling out to select paid advertisers in select markets, not to all advertisers at once. That means some accounts may still run Seedance 2.0 while others already have 2.5, so confirm which version your Ads Manager shows before briefing a clip.
